Peter Luan

Peter is the Director and co-founder of Fort Healthcare

Qualification

Peter graduated from his Bachelor of Chiropractic Science in 2006 and then completed his Masters of Chiropractic at Macquarie University in 2008.

Experience

Peter also has over ten years worth of remedial massage and soft tissue manipulation experience in addition to his Chiropractic skills.

Specialities

Peter’s focus is on sports injury, chronic postural imbalances and shoulder conditions such as frozen shoulder and impingement. He has extensive experience dealing with injuries arising from basketball, dancing, volleyball, weightlifting and running.

Location

Peter is currently practicing at Fort Healthcare Campsie and Fort Healthcare Hurstville.

Interests

After a knee injury that kept him inactive for 2.5 years, Peter is seeking to continually push the boundaries of his body to allow for a greater understanding of movement and human body. He has continued to improve in old hobbies such as basketball and weightlifting while learning new skills such as parkour, gymnastics and sailing.

Zhen (Zane) Ma

Zane is the Director and co-founder of Fort Healthcare

Qualification

Zane graduated from his Bachelor of Chiropractic Science in 2006 and then completed his Masters of Chiropractic at Macquarie University in 2008

Experience

Zane undertook further study under renowned Chinese doctor, Dr En Kun Chong in Kogarah. Under Dr Chong’s tutelage, Zane developed a method that combined the principles of Chinese Medicine and Chiropractic to help the patient achieve longer lasting results with minimal discomfort.

Specialities

He has a special interest in treating and rehabiltating lower back conditions (acute and chronic) such as sciatica, disc injury or herniations and its effect on surrounding musculature.

Location

Zane is currently practicing at Fort Healthcare Burwood, Fort Healthcare Campsie and Fort Healthcare Hurstville.

Interests

Zane’s main hobby is weightlifting where his work ethic allows him to continually strive to improve himself.

Raymond Lo

Qualification

Raymond attended the University of Sydney where he sucessfully completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy). He further advanced his knowledge by completing a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety Management at Curtin University in 2015.

Specialities

Raymond has worked for public hospitals and private practices from which he has developed his specialisation within back and neck pain. He is passionate about postural correction and workplace ergonomics.

He has continued to develop his knowledge and skill by completing a number of courses such as:

  • Internationally Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (Level 1, 2 & 3 – advanced training)
  • Occupational Health Physiotherapy Level 1, Australian Physiotherapy Association
  • Functional Acupuncture, Australian Physiotherapy Association

Location

Raymond is the principal physiotherapist of Active Health Sydney.

Interests

He uses a “hands-on” manual approach, combined with functional rehabilitation to provide short and long-term relief of symptoms.  Raymond’s cultural experiences has given him fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. It also gave him a desire to see Western and Eastern medicines combined.

Royce Chen

Qualification

Royce completed his studies in physiotherapy at the University of Sydney, where he gained a wide variety of work experience in both the public and the private sector. Whilst completing his studies, he volunteered and worked in multiple private clinics and gained a broader knowledge of the healthcare industry.

Specialities

He is passionate about biomechanical analysis and understanding the underlying postural issues and muscular imbalances that lead to a wide variety of injuries and chronic issues. Royce believes that most people suffer from too many postural issues, and is a big believer in working together with his patients to come up with strategies to implement better positions and movements into their daily lives and routines.

Royce practices at Fort Healthcare Rhodes, Fort Healthcare Burwood, and Fort Healthcare Hurstville.

Interests

Having played many sports in the past and having dealt with his fair share of injuries, Royce now continues to spend his spare time at the gym, where he studies movements and exercises that are both effective and safe, implementing this into his clinical practice. Royce is a keen power-lifter himself, with a current combined total of 500kg. He has plans to compete in a powerlifting competition if his busy schedule permits. He has a keen interest in sporting injuries, and works together with the sporting population to not nly rehabilitate their injury but make them stronger and better than before.

Adrian Wong

Qualification

Adrian Wong completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) at the University of Sydney.

Experience

He is highly motivated in providing patient centred care in his sessions and has a keen interest in treating musculoskeletal pain and injuries, particularly those of the back, neck and shoulder.

Specialities

Adrian handles a lot of patients who were injured at work or were involved in accidents. These conditions are often complex and will often affect not only the physical state but mentally as well. He provides a clear treatment and management plan to help the patient return to their optimal state. He has over 2 years of experience in aged care and is keen to continue to help the elderly to stay mobile.

Adrian is currently practicing at Fort Healthcare Hurstville and Burwood.

Interests

Adrian believes in the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and mind especially in chronic pain, and hopes to inspire and assist others back to full health.

Allen Liu

Qualification

Allen has completed a Bachelor of Science and Technology (Physiology) at the University of Sydney in 2012. He then went on to complete both a Graduate Diploma of Chiropractic Science and Masters of Chiropractic at Macquarie University in 2013 and 2015 respectively.

Experience

Having spinal surgery performed in 2008 due to a severe scoliosis, Allen understands the importance of a healthy spine and the impact it can have. Through his studies and learning from personal experience, he believes posture plays an important role in body function and wishes to share his knowledge to deliver the best treatment to his patients. He believes active care and exercise essential in maintaining overall body function and health.

Specialities

Allen has a strong interest in musculoskeletal system and rehabilitation after spending a year volunteering the Discipline of Anatomy and histology at The University of Sydney. He then was passionate about the human body and decided to do further studies.

Allen practices at Fort Healthcare Rhodes, Fort Healthcare Hurstville and Fort healthcare Burwood.

Interests

He trains regularly in the gym to maintain fit and exercise to help keep his body functioning at his best. Being a health conscious practitioner, Allen is keen and determined to educate patients on not only exercises, but also prevention of injuries. Allen has plans to volunteer to use his skills to help disadvantaged communites in Vietnam in 2018.

Allie Seo

Qualification

Allie is a graduate from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy).

Experience

During her studies, she gained experiences across both public and private sectors including Westmead Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Neuromoves, and various private practices across Sydney. She has since gained a particular interest in women’s health, neurological rehab, and is passionate about using exercise as a tool to prevent injury and illness. Allie incorporates Pilates and other forms of exercise in her treatment to ensure an active approach to recovery and promote self-management.

Allie is practicing at Fort Healthcare Rhodes.

Interests

When Allie isn’t working with people, she loves working with dogs where she similarly utilises her clinical skills and exercise prescription to rehabilitate injured and elderly dogs.

Hailey Ho

Qualification

Hailey completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) at the University of Sydney.

Experience

She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She is experienced working in a variety of settings, including aged care, community and rehabilitation. She is keen on providing patient-centered treatments for different kinds of musculoskeletal conditions. Not only emphasizes on exercise based rehabilitation, she also teaches strategies for patients to achieve independence and to maximize their quality of life.

Hailey is practicing at Fort Healthcare Sydney.

Interests

Hailey has a keen interest in musculoskeletal conditions, acute sport injuries, and orthopaedic rehabilitation. She takes a holistic approach in helping patients recover and achieve independence. She believes in delivering effective treatment program that ensues long-term benefits incorporating soft-tissue release, dry needling, joint mobilisation, and home exercise program.

Kelly Xiao

Qualification

Kelly completed her  Bachelor of Podiatry 2014 at the University of South Australia.

Experience

Kelly is very fortunate to have extensive experience in different podiatric settings in the Aboriginal and metropolitan communities, Australian and overseas hospitals, private and University clinics and has dealt with an array of clientele in all aspects of Podiatry.

Kelly understands the importance of building a good relationship with patients, colleagues and other health practitioners by communicating with them effectively with a professional and friendly manner. She speaks both English and Mandarin Chinese

Interests

Kelly has a specific interest in the biomechanics of the lower limb and foot. She is also skilled in assessment and treatment of diabetic and elderly patients. During her time overseas, she worked in post amputation care and in the management of high risk foot ulcers.

Rachel Lee

Qualification

Rachel completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) at USYD with Honours.

Experience

Rachel is a certified and experienced speech pathologist and has a passion to see children and adults communicate to the best of their ability. She is known for her warm and friendly manner and goes the extra mile for her clients with the aim of achieving meaningful change in everyday life. Rachel has a particular interest in voice disorders; she is an experienced voice therapist with specialised training and expertise in the assessment and treatment of voice difficulties.

Rachel completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at The University of Sydney. She also conducted research investigating voice behaviours and techniques for which she was awarded first class honors at the University of Sydney. She is a full practicing member of member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and the Australian Voice Association (AVA).

Interests

Rachel has an extensive background as a vocal coach and singing teacher with both children and adults for over 10 years. This includes assisting singers, actors, broadcasters, teachers and other professional voice users to improve and maximise their vocal quality. This can also involve remediating the voice for transitioning sustainably to a full vocal load in the workplace or fulfilling performance schedule demands. Rachel can also assist with accent modification training for non-native English speakers wishing to improve the clarity and intelligibility of their speech.

Selina Cai

Qualification

She is graduated from one of most famous professional University of Chinese Medicine – The TianJin university of Traditional Chinese Medicine.She has acquired her bachelor and master degree after 7 years professional education.

Experience

She has a lot of working experience in some other countries , like Malaysia, Indonesia and South Africa.  Her specialties are pain management, digestive diseases and menstruation problems. Selina is the Fort Healthcare Integrative and Period Pain co-ordinator.

Selina practices at Fort Healthcare Rhodes, Fort Healthcare Sydney and Fort Healthcare Hurstville.

Interests

Her hobbies are bushwalking, music and fitness.

William Zhang

Qualification

Accredited Chinese medicine practitioner and Acupuncturist (Majoring in TCM orthopaedics

Experience

William specialty focuses on Chronic musculoskeletal disorders of more than 10 years. Particularly rich of experience in treating variety of Arthritis, Cervical disorders, Frozen shoulder and Lumbar disc protrusion. He has treated a variety of disorders in Tianjin Orthopedic Hospital, General Military Hospital of Beijing and Tianjin Northgate Orthopedic Hospital.

William is practicing at Active Health Sydney.

Interests

His hobbies include fishing, hiking and soccer.

Victoria Lee

Qualification

Victoria has completed her Bachelor of Science (Food and Nutrition) and her Masters of Dietetic. She is an Accredited Practising Dietitian/ Nutritionist

Experience

Victoria has had working experience in the food industries with companies such as Nestle and Pfizer Nutrition. She has has a special interest in management of Diabetes and insulin resistance, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and food intolerance. She can also prescribe dietary advice for other chronic illness such as cardiovascular disease, liver health, women’s health (PCOS), obesity etc.

Yen Yen Ku

Qualification

Yen Yen has completed her Bachelor of Science (Food Science and Technology) and Master of Nutrition and Dietetic from USYD. She is an Accredited Practising Dietitian/ Nutritionist

Experience

Yen Yen has been a dietitian for over ten years. She has worked in many areas in the different hospitals in National University Hospital, Singapore, Bowral hospital and Liverpool hospital in Sydney as well as a food technologist in a Malayan flour mill. She specializes in diabetes (type I, type II and gestational diabetes, with insulin and insulin pump), hyperlipidemia and other cardiovascular diseases, weight management, geriatrics (constipation, malnutrition, arthritis, osteoporosis), pregnancy and maternity, gall stones, acid reflux, IBS and other gastro-intestinal diseases, anaemia, cancer (post-surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy), paediatric failure to thrive, acute renal failure and chronic renal failure, etc.
