There has been an increase in media exposure from the Olympics Games 2016 for a physical therapy technique called cupping. Cupping is used to increase blood circulation which can help to decrease muscle pain and improve recovery time.

There are two main types of cupping – static and dynamic. Static cupping is more commonly used and the cups are left for a period of time depending on the area. Dynamic cupping is a more advanced technique where the cup is moved over the skin, fascia and muscles. This can help to reduce muscle pain or fatigue and improves recovery. Selina treats this rear deltoid injury by combining both dynamic and static cupping.
